Belonging to the Papillonaceae family, the Broom is a flowering plant native to our continent, to the areas of Asia and Africa closest to us. Widespread in nature, it is also present in the Mediterranean maquis and reaches 2-3 m in height. It shows a branched crown, with thin stems, lanceolate leaves and characteristic golden yellow flowers. It is a plant known and mentioned since ancient times, in fact the Greeks and Latins used it to attract honey bees. Symbolically it is indicated as an icon of modesty and simplicity. An extract with antioxidant and toning activity is obtained from the flowers of this splendid shrubby plant.
